La Colonial is the largest producer of cotton in Peru and one of the biggest in the world. They supply both Tanguis and Pima cotton to a wide range of brands. The problem with being a relatively big company is that La Colonial doesn't share a lot of proprietary information about cotton cultivation. However, we chose to use La Colonial because they are very well respected in the industry and hold a ton of certifications! While we can't track everything about La Colonial, we can feel confident that three major independent certifications have approved their eco and ethical standards!
GOTS, ISO 9001 and OEKO-Tex (certified as non-GMO)
We chose to work with 100% non-GMO certified Pima Cotton.
We did have the pleasure of visiting La Colonial's primary production hub back in 2022 and were absolutely star struck!
