Harkened is a full service clothing manufacturer located in Lima, Peru. We had the pleasure of meeting the amazing Harkened team in March of 2022 and just fell in love! Harkened, feels like a family and it shows!
Values
Harkened has been Fair Trade certified since 2019. In 2023, they participated in Nest's Accelerator that helps "highly-motivated social entrepreneurs with a suite of targeted programming to drive their business growth and social impact in the handcraft sector". In 2024, they hope to obtain Nest certification along with becoming a B-Corp!
Harkened's focus on sustainable materials has always been a the root of their cause. At Soluna, we work with GOTS certified Pima Cotton and Responsible Standards for Wool certified Alpaca.
Women Led
Kelly and Ellen are the dynamic self identified women duo behind Harkened.
Closing The Loop
Harkened is a big believer in closing the loop of their production process - which we love! They went as far as creating an entirely new company called The Endery to make use of yarn waste. In 2021, Harkended collected over 600kg of yarn waste that would have ended up in the landfill and sent it to The Endery for upcycling.
